Spirulina – A Precious Source of Natural Nutrition

What is Spirulina?

Spirulina (scientific name is Spirulina) is a green algae, containing chlorophyll, and phycocyanin (a valuable antioxidant pigment). It is a spiral filamentous shape formed by many single cells, which can only be seen under a microscope. This is a type of algae with "superior properties", living in fresh and saltwater environments, and has been studied and proven by many scientists for its extraordinary nutritional properties. Therefore, Spirulina is known in English as a ‘superfood’.

Spirulina appeared billions of years ago. This is one of the oldest organisms on earth, with the ability to photosynthesize and produce oxygen. This type of algae was accidentally rediscovered by French doctor Pierre Clement in the 1960s when he went to Lake Chad in Africa. He discovered that during the off seasons when hunting was not possible, the people here lived by consuming a unique green cake and the main ingredient that made the cake was a type of algae scooped up from the lake. He brought the sample back for analysis and discovered that it was Spirulina.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) officially recognized Spirulina as a valuable source of nutrition and medicine for humans.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognized it as one of the best sources of protein.

Spirulina's rich nutritional composition

Spirulina can grow and develop well in both saltwater and fresh water. It is considered one of the most nutritious foods in the world. Spirulina has high protein and vitamin content, making it a great dietary supplement for all, especially those who are vegetarians.

The mineral and vitamin content in algae is very rich, including Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, Vitamin E, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, and Protein.

The protein content in spirulina is higher than meat, eggs, and soybeans. Also, it is very easy to digest and absorb quickly. Algae contains all 8 essential amino acids that the body cannot synthesize, which is why algae is called the perfect protein.

Strong antioxidant: Phycocyanin, a characteristic blue-green pigment, has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. Beta-carotene and chlorophyll supports detoxification and beautifies the skin.

*The Wonderful Uses of Spirulina

*Effective anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory

The first benefit to mention is the extremely powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ability of Spirulina. Spirulina contains a special antioxidant called phycocyanin (this is also a type of foreign cell-fighting molecule). Phycocyanin found in spirulina is a blue pigment and is recognized by scientists for its ability to support the fight against free radicals and inhibit the production of inflammatory signaling molecules. Thanks to that, spirulina has effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

*Reduces Cancer Risk

Scientific studies conducted on pre-cancer patients have shown that using spirulina will limit the activity of free radicals. Free radicals are the main cause of cell mutation, forming cancer. Antioxidants help prevent this process. Phycocyanin is the main antioxidant in algae. Beta-carotene, Vitamin E, Selenium - these substances help neutralize factors that cause DNA mutations.

(Note: Spirulina is not a cancer treatment drug, but only has supportive and preventive effects)

*Improves the immune system

The nutrients and vitamins in Spirulina also promote white blood cells, fight viruses, and bacteria, significantly reducing symptoms of the disease such as runny nose, sneezing, stuffy and itchy nose. Thereby protecting the body's immune system, effectively improving the user's physical condition.

*Weight loss

When users, especially women, use fresh spirulina properly (20 grams/day, 30 minutes before eating), there is a weight loss effect. The effect from this type of algae that safely eliminates excess fat will surely make you satisfied. Using Spirulina algae brings safe and scientific weight loss effects.

*Beautifying the skin, reducing aging
Currently, Spirulina algae also brings outstanding effects in beautifying, inhibiting the formation of wrinkles, and skin aging quite well. Users can eat Spirulina algae directly or process it with other foods depending on their preferences and needs. Beautify the skin by mixing it with yogurt to apply on the face.

*Reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular disease is always a concern for many people because of the burden it brings. There are many factors that can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease such as high levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. Spirulina has a positive effect on these factors. They reduce total cholesterol, bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol), triglycerides and increase good cholesterol (HDL cholesterol).

Spirulina helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease effectively

*Helps lower blood pressure and prevents stroke

High blood pressure is the main cause of many serious diseases including heart attack, stroke and other chronic diseases. Using spirulina every day has proven effective in reducing blood pressure in people with normal blood pressure levels. This is thought to be due to the effect of Spirulina leading to increased production of nitric acid - a substance that has the effect of dilating blood vessels, increasing circulation.

*Preventing Anemia

There are many different forms of anemia, the most common of which is characterized by a decrease in hemoglobin or red blood cells. Anemia is quite common in the elderly, often leading to a feeling of prolonged fatigue. Spirulina supplementation increases the hemoglobin content in red blood cells, improves immune functions, and helps prevent anemia effectively.

*Improves muscle strength and endurance : Oxidative damage during exercise is a major cause of muscle fatigue. Therefore, some plant foods with antioxidant properties can help athletes and physically active individuals minimize this damage. With its antioxidant properties, Spirulina has the effect of improving muscle strength and endurance, enhancing the latter.

*Detoxification

The blue pigment in Spirulina has the ability to bind and eliminate heavy metals and toxins. Spirulina supports the liver and kidneys in the process of filtering blood and eliminating toxins. Spirulina contains a lot of fiber and digestive enzymes that help clean the intestines and reduce constipation.

*Who should use fresh Spirulina?

Outstanding nutritional ingredients and a series of health benefits have made Spirulina a "miracle drug" for many users. In particular, the following subjects can benefit from using this type of algae to improve and enhance their health:

  • People who need to nourish and improve their health/immune system
  • Children and adolescents in the process of development
  • People who are often stressed at work
  • People who have just recovered from illness
  • Elderly people
  • Patients after surgery, undergoing radiotherapy, chemotherapy
  • People who want to lose weight or gain weight (different ways of use)
  • People on a vegetarian or vegan diet
  • Athletes or Gym Goers
  • All in all, Spirulina is suitable for most users

*How to Preserve Fresh Spirulina

Proper preservation of fresh Spirulina is extremely important because this is fresh algae that has not been heat-treated, has no preservatives, so it is very easy to ferment or become contaminated if not properly preserved. Fresh Spirulina must always be stored at low temperatures below -5°C to -18°C. After use, it should be placed in the freezer immediately to avoid decomposition. When transporting, it should be placed in a cold and insulated container.

*Instructions on how to use fresh Spirulina properly

Users who want to receive 100% of the nutrients and outstanding uses of Spirulina should grasp the usage recommended by many scientific experts as follows:

Each fresh Spirulina tablet of our Company is 10 grams. Use 2 times / day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

*Patients who need to recover their health should use 10-20 grams of spirulina/day after each meal or prepare it with food to use during meals (Can be used with Milk, Smoothies or Yogurt...)

*Women who want to lose weight should eat 10-20 grams of spirulina about 30 minutes before meals or mix it with juice, filtered water, cereal or yogurt...

*People who want to gain weight should eat 10-20 grams of spirulina about 30 minutes after meals

*Children can use 5-10 grams, use directly or divide into many small portions mixed with cold milk or cold drinks, will help increase resistance and physical growth

*What is the difference between FRESH Spirulina and Spirulina in POWDER or TABLET form?

FRESH Spirulina is truly 100% pure living food. There is a huge difference between Spirulina POWDER or TABLETS and FRESH Spirulina. FRESH Spirulina contains all the essential nutrients needed for human growth in a "bioactive" form. This is the MOST IMPORTANT key. To create Spirulina POWDER or TABLETS, other companies use high temperature spray dryers, which destroys the product, removing all the life force and essential nutrients. Removing water means removing life. Tests have shown that Spirulina POWDER or TABLETS are only 2-3% effective compared to FRESH Spirulina which is over 95% effective.

Spirulina powders and supplements containing Spirulina are reported to have a strong burnt smell compared to our FRESH Spirulina which has virtually no taste. Dried Spirulina products are made with extremely high temperatures, which destroys the vitamins, minerals, and proteins, making the Powder and Pills much less effective.

*Our Company's Products are 100% FRESH & PURE & PRESERVED in a NATURAL way

(NOTE: Some people may be allergic to Spirulina, so use it in small doses to test your body's reaction. People with diarrhea, autoimmune diseases and related diseases, Phenylketonuria, a history of sensitivity to seaweed, and people who are taking anticoagulants or immunosuppressants should not take Spirulina.)
